I have a 2 gallon. Is cycling nessecary for bettas? Will you worship me? Algea? All dat stuff. can I do a cycle with da betta in da tank?

no, you will still need to cycle the tank like any other tank. this will take at least a week. if you have other tanks, you could swap a little of the bio media out of your other filters into your new tank and this will mean that you could add a fish the next day but remember only take 1/4 of the media out of your other filter otherwise you could cause problems to your other tanks.

Does a betta need a heater?

if the room is constanty quite warm, then it should be ok without one but it would be better to have a heater.

My room is about 80 degrees because the heater in my house is messed up and all the hot air goes into my room.

In the summer, well, the only place the air comditioning works is the living room. I don't get air conditioning in my room plus my room is the smallest bedroom.

To resphrase that, I have the hottest room in the house.

Second, for overheating, I would put a fan in my room. I doubt that will happen though.

I haven't even started to cycle. I don't expect to put anything in there for the next week. I DON'T EVEN HAVE A FILTER!!! It will get better.
