UM im concidering on purachsing a betta and i have a 8.7 gall tank and i want to purcahse the biggest betta there is around..i heard plakats grow quite big but how big? i want to know what vartiety of betta grow big in inches or centimetres or watever suits you..thanks

8.7 gallons is very tiny for a big fish.

If you want a large betta gaints will get to 7" but your tank would be too small for one. You can also get half gaints that will get to 3.5" You'll have to get them off aquabid.com or from a breeder, because usually fishstores don't carry them.

If I was you i'd get a smaller one, and then when you learn more about them, "upgrade" to a bigger one and rehome the little one.

you could divide the tank and get 2 normal bettas.
