Hello,
I want to put a betta in a bowl with some bamboo.
Is that possible?
How do I do that?
Any special requirements?

I don't think you can do that...the bamboo will foul the water and make your betta sick. Just get a piece of fake bamboo from the craft store if that's the look you are after.

Why would Bamboo foul the water? Woudldn't it suck some nutrients therefore making the water somewhat better? You can use a bamboo if the leaves are not submerged. Bamboos are semi-aquatic. Just dotn stick your betta in a small vase type thingie, and dont cover the top with some pebbles. My friend (and betta consultant) had a bamboo in his tank, and his betta lived a long healthy life full of bubble nest. Just make sure you bamboo is clean, especially the roots.

Well from what I've learn, sometimes the roots from the bamboo would rip the betta's fin. But that only happens like 1 in a thousand. Also, my brother's betta lived happily with the bamboo.

in thailand bettas nest in peices of bambo.

i wouldn't count on petco, or the instructions on the kit for reliable advice... i have no personal experience with bamboo, though
