i was thinking what in the hell am i gonna do with all the bettas in containers when its winter and freezing cold..

keep em all under a heater?? geez.. im stressin a bit about this one.. i thought id ask it now before time runs out..

its been raining here and who knows if itll ever get hot again..

i really wonder.. i didnt really have bettas last winter :S

what do all you do? what should i do ?

my parents will wonder why the house is so damn hot..

in the winter they always ask ''who turned the heat up''

lmao this is gonna be fun claiming it isnt me

LMAO,oh dear that does bite.

Maybe you can get a space heater for your room? Just don't burn the place down :p

actually i'm going to have the same problem as i live in canada too :p

i assume the water wouldn't get too cold becuase the house will be heated -_- unfournately i can't crank the heaters up all the way becuase that would cost us a fortune!

one of those litlte space heater sounds nice, i'm thinking of putting it in my closet and then moving all the bettas there  my closet is more like a litlte room, it has a door and everything so it could wrok  the litlte space heater in there would be plenty of heat

hm hm hm .. i have a few of those little ones you plug in and they pour out heat... maybe i will just hook one of those up on the other side of the room pointed towards the containers and hope it keeps them well :S

closet.. that could work.. just means the bettas would be in the dark 24 hours a day.. mine wouldnt enjoy that i dont think... bah bah.. o well.. still time to figure things out

Yeah, I plan on getting one for the betta room in a couple of months. That's actually the coldest room in the house during the winter. I also plastic my windows that are near bettas in the winter. Just get that plastic sheeting and tape and blow dry it on.

O CRAP WINDOWS.. we HAD double paned windows right by the fish, till my dad smashed the ladder through the outside layer of windows..

DAMN.. this just keeps getting worse

any ideas how much those heaters cost :S :S :S i think if i could i'd look into garage sales and see if there's a used one around that i can pick up, but do you konw the general price range? i'd hate to chew yet another hole through my wallet :S

hm hm .... try to find one now.. while its still summer.. they will probably be damn cheap.. hm hm .. right now maybe $40-$50.. but as winter comes they will probably double in price im guessing..

hm hm not sure where to look for them.. i know canadian tire gets rid of their winter stuff when summer comes along, so probably not there..

hmmmmmmmmmm i donno.. hope for a garage sale find :S

Iv got an idea,... accually i stole it but i think it works good. u know those lil coffee mug heaters people use on their desks to keep their mugs warm? well just go too the store and but a few, a cup on each one should work, just turn the heat on them down. also iv heard u can use one of those big portable heating trays people use to cook on. if u turn the heat down rely low on one of those it should keep the water warm.

hmm... id be scared of cooking them.. and i alrdy have 2 of the plug in heaters.. i think i will try the plug in heaters and hope they are ok.. if not, im gonna have to think of some radical solution like buying a bunch of 10g tanks and heaters and dividing 10g tanks into 4 sections..

which would be expensive and i really wouldnt wanna have to do that..

i guess thats the back up plan :S

My fish room has a space heater in it, which runs year round because it's always cold here. They work great :)

bah i donno what the hell this thing is called.. its just a little thing that has a fan on it, and a heater, so it heats up the air and the fan shoots the air around
