Hello I have had my male and female betta in the same tank for 48 hours now and need some advice regarding egg laying/embrace.
My male betta has blown his bubble nest and is showing the usual aggression to the female, they chased each other around like crazy when i first released the female and it has calmed down a bit now as although the male swims up to her and flares he swims back to the bubble nest, she still hasnt swam towards the nest with her head down in the 'submissive position' to embrace. Any ideas and is this normal?

How long did you condition them for?
You need to feed them 3-5 times a day for at least 2 weeks before breeding them.
They need to be mature and in good condition.
Your tank water needs to be 26-28C.

If the female isn't interested, separate them for a week and try again later.

I agree, I conditioned them for 2/3 weeks. She is still showing breeding stripes however and sometimes swims towards the nest before the male chases her away. Does this mean that she is interested?

she might be interested but he might not be. separate them for a week and try again later.

Other watching from a distance, the female should release the eggs.

When the male guards the nest and shoo the female away.
