Hi all,

I have read over this forum and it seems the general consencus is that if a Betta looks like my Neons, they will probably 'not get on' so to speak.

So I wondered if I were to get a dark red, dark blue or green, possibly black betta, would they not think that they are the same?

Thanks in advance.

It's not really a matter of the betta looking like a neon, but more if a fish has bright colors or large fins (like a betta) then the betta will look at it as competition.

With neons it generally goes the other way. All tetras are nippers to some extent, and the longer the fins, the more tempting they are. Bettas can bring out the worst in a fish that wouldn't bother much else. Bettas are just as if not more likely to be victims than aggressors in a community.
