Are bettas compatible with angels? I've heard they are not compatible with gouramis and angels, with their long stiltlike ventral fins, are somewhat similar... has anyone had any experience keeping these two together?

Oops. :*) Wrong forum. Could this be move to either bettas and gouramis or new world cichlids; possibly tropical chit chat?

>>> Could this be move to either bettas

Yup!

No that is bad! no angel and betta can live together! if you just leave em in for a day, you're gonna only see your bettas body either floating up on top or still alive finless and tailess

Can someone please reply I'm getting 2 angels today and I don't want my betta to be torn apart.

I would say get a 1 or 2g while you're out there. I've kept them before, it's not quite as betta_lova says, but the angel was slighly nippy. Not very much noticeable damage, but i took out the betta nonetheless because it was getting stressed out.

P.T.

edit: just noticed your betta is a plakat. Try keeping it, may or may not work out. Get the 1 or 2 g either way, and keep a close eye.

Well I have a 5 gallon quarantine tank standing by in case it gets bad. I'll try it first to see how it is.

Yes you should do that! but just remember to keep watching and to never leave the tank for a long time

Well that won't be easy. I have to go to school you know... Anyway I'll watch them for the first 20 minutes and if they're fine, they're fine.

Betta lova is exaggerating

Watch it for a while, then just keep track of the betta's condition everyday. If its ok, its ok.

P.T.

Psst... Betta_Lova is crazy. Isn't he like the youngest person in this forum? It's cool to see someone that young this addicted to fish. :p Anyway thanks for the advice.
