Betta X ?

What kind of fish can bettas be bred with other then bettas? I'm not going to do it, don't wory; I'm having enough trouble breeding them with their own species. I was just freakishly curious, lol!

yeah, Betta splendens can only be crossed with some of the other species in the Betta genus... not really surprising when you consider all the unique adaptations involved

i knew that but those are still bettas, he wanted to know if they can spawn with anything else.

they have been crossed with imbellis but not heared with any others. Course they will course never cross with any of the mouth brooders

given the phrasing of the original question, i have a suspicion that he was using bettas as a common name besides, i did answer the original question:

"can bettas be bred with anything other than bettas?"
"bettas can only be bred with certain other bettas"

although i suppose i could have thrown a "No" in there somewhere
