Betta With Strange 'growth'

My male Betta has a strange growth on his side. I think its a growth rather than something attached but i'm not 100% sure. Hopefully its obvious from this picture

Has anyone any ideas what it could be and anything i should be doing to help him

He is fed Atison's Betta food and yes its yellowish. I've also just realised I've never actually seen a Betta poop before and this is my second one lol. I assume Betta poop was more stringy rather than a small lump. Maybe he has been constipated.

My CT boy had a large clump of poo similar to yours(but pink). It scared me because it was almost as big as he was! but it fell off and hes all better now!

Just so long as its the same color as his food, he's ok
