Betta With Curling Fins

You are right about the O2. I normally use surface agitation to get there. So I point my flow upward.
Keep us updated on the fish. If it gets worse then I do suggest a medication.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye and update if any change.

Just thought I'd upload a video of my betta visibly "chewing" his NLS pellets. I had never seen a fish eating so funny.

Haha, it's sweet how they throw their heads back whilst nomming down their food :D
Despite the damage to his fin, he's a real beauty!

Thanks. I'd never thought someone would consider him beatiful besides myself  as he didn't strike me as the best one I've seen when I got him at the pet store but he is growing on me. It's the personality that matters. With the lights off his colour turns into green green irridescent and if it wasn't for his dorsal fin, he would be gorgeous looking. He probably was very good looking before someone managed to nearly tear the life out of him.

Actually it's a very beautiful fish. If you look closely at the photo you posted you can see a very interesting color pattern and tone. That's a very cute video. My last betta did that too. It was like he used his whole body to eat.

Thanks Tcamos.

I counted the number of his top rays to see if he'll grow more in time. He must have been a really nice fish. To my unexperienced eyes it looks like he was kept with very little water and not being able to spread his top/dorsal fin has damaged it.

Here is a funny picture of him:

Betta are sweet fish. They really get to know their owners and become like water-pets with time. I've always enjoyed having them around.

I posted on here in the general section about water flow, some people aim the flow to the back or side of the tank so it hits the glass, this defelcts it and it isn't as fast, try adding a tube with a bend to the outlet and see if you can deflect it see if that helps.
He does look happy enough though, you seem to be doing a good job on him.

The flow really doesn't seem to bother him. It really isn't strong and he swims all around the tank. It's actually pointing to the back corner of the tank making the corner plant shake a bit but that's about it. He swims there himself so if he is not comfortable with it why is he going there  The water surface needs to be moved a bit to avoid creating protein film on top otherwise he'll suffocate before I even notice.

Nice photos. That's a great shot of the tail.
Is he still behaving normally?

Yep, he seems very happy. He is very active. I thought bettas are lazy
I am 99% certain he is not sick. His tail is not getting worse and if anything I think the tannins from the almond leaves is playing a role in his tail getting more coloured. The part between the rays that was light pink is now getting dark red.

Good to hear.

A couple of pictures of my betta and his bubble nests:
