Any help on this would be fantastic cheers guys.

over and out dav :good:

Wow, that's a big change!
It looks like a bit of fin rot to me.

Could you give us your readings of your water paras?

the water paras are as follows.
PH sitting at 7.0
Nitrite sitting at 0
Ammonia sitting at 0
Nitrate sitting a little above 0 say .25

 im gutted about him, yes it is a massive change over the 3 days. :-(

Sorry about him just stay on top of daily water changes to keep the water nice and it will go away

i have been doing the changes everyday been doing 25% was not sure if that was enough not enough, to much? such a shame he is agorgeous fish.

If your recent changes haven't helped, I'd say you might have to start him on a course of fin rot treatment. Most people recommend Myxazin. If you can't find it in your LFS, you can order it from eBay :good:

That is a big change

thanks again :good:

I've had a couple of cases like this and still don't know what may have caused it. He looks like he has sticky fin and even when I did water changes it seem to make the matter worse. I tried everything... Its like what ever his water conditions were before you bought him home isn't the same as what you have given him and they just deteriorate. Sorry I'm not of any help just know what you are going through.

 I'm not sure what's done it either, I'm going to start treatment today see if that helps.

have you noticed any other symptoms? is the fish flashing or scratching himself on decor in the tank? do you notice any slimy patches or off colored patches on the fish? and darting or labored breathing?
my gut tells me it is not bacterial and therefor the myxacin will do nothing. Im leaning toward parasitic, especially with the clamped fins.
shine a flashlight on the fish in a dark room. Do you see any gold "dust" on the fish? or any small white or yellowy bumps/specks.
have you recently put any new plants or decor in the tank? sprayed any perfume or aerosols like doedorant or room air freshener near the tank?
just some other things to consider. Certainly doesnt look like fin rot to me which would make you want to use antibacterial meds. You really shouldnt medicate unless you know what it is you are treating. In the longrun can make things much much worse.
have you tried aquarium salt dips? mix 1 teaspoon/5 gal and leave him for up to 30 mins 2X a day. waterchange everday while he is in his bath.
just a suggestion until you figure out the cause.
cheers
