I am getting a new tank soon and will be moving the residents from my existing tank out and a betta in. It's 48l (12 US gallons I believe) with natural plants. Wanted to also put in 6 white cloud minnows and an aquatic frog. Would this be too much? I would be happy to have one or the other if tank size is too small.

Frogs eat fish, its the way of the world. So probably not a good idea to mix the two unless you have a realy big fish & a realy small frog.

I agree about the frog but the rule is an inch of fish per gallon

I think what I'm going to do is have a betta just by itself in a smaller tank (I think 48l is a bit too big for 1 fish). I've been doing my research and finding good tank mates in the size I have is prooving difficult.

do you have sand? if so, you could get some cories? just a suggestion:)

planning on changing to sand, as I'm getting a new bigger tank which will be sand. Would cories be ok?
