I have decided on a betta tank and i ave a couple quesitons.

Planted or Not? Is so what type of plants?

What should i use for substrate?

also Filter? or not? What kind of filter?

Also if you guys could post me some pics of your betta tanks with multi betta like a split tank thing. that would be cool

this a good example of betta "barracks" http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=209397 Hope it works

Planted - yes - betta like to rest on leaves so broad leaves are good too. When i was looking for plants alot of people like java fern, but every one is different.

substrate can be any thing from nothing to marbles and fine gravel, the choice is yours but remeber plants will have to be potted if you have a larger substrate.

The tanks does not need to be filtered as bettas do not like water movement but that means alot of water changes. If you do go for a filter make sure its only a small one and has a low setting (water changes will still need to be done but not as often)

Hope this help some
