Ok im getting tired of this, i have a betta that seems to be ripping up his tail. Everytime the tail starts to heal quite a bit, the next time i look BAM! its ripped up again. He's done this 5 times already, does anyone know how i can stop him from doing that to himself? -_-

No the tank is completely bare, its like he waits for his tail to grow back a little to just rip it up again. lol

The same exact thing has been going on with two of my boys, almost for as long as I've had them. I also tried putting them in bare tanks to heal it up. The only thing I've found that helps is frequent water changes (such as every other day), salt, and a 5 day treatment of Bettamax. It seems to get enough healing started that they don't ruin it right away. However, sometimes they do. :/ The only thing I can figure out is that they bite their tails - I've actually seen one of mine do it. Good luck!
