my betta (male )is staying under the wood in the tank and only comes out every now and then is this normall behaviour plz help

how long have you had him? did you get him at a pet store?
if you just recently got him, he may still be settling in.
if you got him at a pet store, he may be older and not feel like moving around alot.

otherwise, he could just feel safe there or just like it there. chris's favorite place is laying on top of the leaves on his plant while shadow likes to sleep on his pillar.
i'm not sure what else would cause it.

i got him about 3 weeks ago as my other 1 died he was fine at first and then started to go under this log and not come out i only really see him about 3-4 times after i get home from work was worried incase there was summit up with him

yeah its a comunity tank and all the other fish r fine they dont annoy him or anything i looked at night and they leave him alone so its not that he is being herassed

it might be one of the other fish.My beta did that when i introduced new fish.I took them back to the shop and he started coming out again.
