betta spawn

well i have been trying to spawn my bettas...and i backed out.,.then this morning i tried again and now they have been spawning for about 30 minutes or 45...well how will i know when they are finished so i can get her out of there?

well, i decided on my own that they were finished when she stopped dropping eggs and he tried to kill her..they are done right?

spawning can sometimes take as long as 4 to 5 hours. they are done when no more eggs are dropped and the female takes refuge from under the bubble nest. every female is different, some lay many eggs, some not so many. taking the female out prompty is important as the male will assume a defensive role after mating, protecting his nest from anybody that comes close, including the female.
