I would not put bettas with neons. Neons tend to be nippy, and stress bettas since they are fast.moving fish and bright. Sororities also do better in a species only tank or with some bottom dwellers.
How about upping your group to 11-12 and getting a pair of honey gourami
Also, I hope that isnt going to be permanent for goldies. One fancy goldfish can be alone in a 30g, 2 in a 40g, 3 in a 50g,, etc. They grow big.
I don't really know the types of gouramis we have in our lfs but I will check.
And no, it would not be permanent, it was just going to be a breeding tank. We keep goldfish in our pond.
Ok. Thats good. Makes me feel better
Just that we have two beautiful goldies that the fish specialist at the lfs says they are male and female and I would like to breed them. Guess I'll have to wait or get them a smaller pond for them.
Also, can you keep two gouramis? I thought you couldn't???
Goldfish breed quite readily in ponds outdoors no need to move them inside
just make sure there is plenty of hiding places for the fry pondweed etc when they are a little bit bigger you can catch the fry to view in your tank rather than taking the parents out if that's what you mean? p.s where in Portugal are you from? I'm half Portuguese my dad is from Lisbon
But since they are with more goldfishes and two turtoises, I would rather breed them in a separate tank or pond just to make sure tha turtoises don't eat them.
I am from Castelo Branco, it's in the center of Portugal. I go to Lisbon quite often tho.
Ahh ok didn't realise there were turtles in there too
Yes there are so I will need to move them
okay so I just went to the lfs to buy some vesicularia and a tall plant and had an impulse buy and got this beautiful VT betta, will start a journal on it later on when I finish organising the tank
