Betta Shows

Hey I was just wondering if anyone is involved in betta shows in Canada and if they are I wouldn't mind some info. Here's what I was hoping to show...

Actually I wouldn't mind some feedback on what you guys thinks of my split-tails.

i know nothing about showing, but they are some cooooolll looking fishies!!!!

They are both beautiful. The top fish has a fault, in terms of showing - his doubletail split is incomplete. His anal's a bit long, too. But fish with faults win shows all the time. Did you breed these fish?

There is a district show, coming up in april in BC. but I'll have to check to see if there's any scheduled on your end of the country. You can also ship your fish to and from any show, if you prefer to do that.

No actually i didn't breed these guys it was luck of the draw at the aquarium store where I work.

In that case, you'd need to let the show know that. You can show fish that you didn't breed, but you have to specify that you didn't breed them.


Y'know, now that I look a little closer, it appears they may be veiltail doubletails. (sorry, doubletails aren't my forte!) If that's the case, you probably won't be able to show them in an IBC show - veiltails are simply not show, as far as I know.

The second is my pick! A very unique betta! Love it. OK. Here is a female doubletail fullmoon. Look at the tail split. Perfect but she looks more to a star now. LOL

yeevia, the link I put up earlier in this thread has a list of the IBC shows this year. Most are in the US.
