One of my betta`s is ill :(

his fins are all clamped up and he keeps lying on the floor most of the time looking really misrible :(

water conditions are all fine and he is eating well also (which is the only time he bothers to get up) :/

i treated water with stress coat incase he was stressed melafix incase it was some kind of infection and added a litle bit of salt to the water as heard thats a good thing to do.

i swapped the male in the tank next to his for another male incase he was bored of seeing the same betta next to him but hasnt done a thing yet just doesnt seem interested in doing anything at all :(

anyone have any idea what it could be ? or what else i could try and do ?

he is only around 3-4 months old so cant really be old age yet

hm... try feeding him some good foods like bloodworms or brine shrimp maybe..

one of mine was like that until i started giving him lots of good foods.. now hes pretty perky most the time

hmm that is really strange...have you tried raising hte temperature? the water could be too cold for the little guy

water is perminantly between 80-82 degres

only ever feed my betta`s live foods , frozen foods and pellets

i just confused over this 1 cause all the betta`s i have are fed the same and same amount so if was food surley more would be ill.

they all in pairs with a divider so if it was sommat in the water i would of thought the other would of become ill yet he looks in excellent health

Scary.I have one doing exactly the same thing and I am at a loss for what might be the problem. He's always been one of my more active fish, and a real favorite of Koda jr's too.I am concerned about my water. The levels are all ok.But recently the city added more chemicals to combat algae. It smells and tastes different.I wonder if some fish are more sensitive to changes like that :(

ok i tried everything i had said before and he still dont look any better :( so went down to my LFS and spoke to the boss and he gave me some antibotic capsuals to use 2 capsuals that open up and take the powder out and that put 1/4 in each morning for 4 days.

I never heard of this method before using that type of tablet that looks more the tablets doctors give humans :S but i guess its worth a try  just hope it works

Is it one of your new fish you had the other day...........he may just be stressed adn adding loads of chemicals wont help him at all, post a picture of him in his tank so we can see what he is like......

It sounds like the boss gave you Bettamax. It's good stuff and should help.

How often do you change the water and how much?

That's what I got for mine yesterday and he was feeling better the same day.Now he is pretty much his usual self, happily swimming about and showing off his fins. It's a good feeling to see a listless fish getting well.
