Betta question

Hi, I have a betta in a small bowl at school. Since I won't be working there this summer, I want to bring him home. I am afraid my cats will knock the bowl over, no matter how high I put it. I have a 30 gallon tank with some bala sharks, tin-foil barbs, and a pleco. Will my betta be able to get along in a community setting? Thanks.

i think the barbs may be to aggressive towards the betta, they are fin nippers and might take a liking to his long fins

I wouldn't put the betta in there.. the barbs & balas will eventualy get way larger than the betta and possibly eat him..

I highly doubt the balas would eat the betta, as I have three with a tiny tiny tetra.

But the barbs definately would nip the fins too much. You can get a 2.5 mini-bow or a 2 gallon tank that has a hood, for around 20 us dollars. Besides your betta, would be happier in a tank by himself.
