if the tank is a coldwater as in it relies on the room temp then the room temp must not drop below 20 degrees at any time, a betta can tolerte this temp for short periods of time, if there are goldfish in the tank then NO a betta can go in there

its cycling at the mo so nothing in there. could they have cories in with a betta??

Why not get a heater, they're pretty cheap, and then she wouldn't have to worry about the room temp.

Cheers

Cories and otto cats are both fine with bettas, they both do better in a group of 5 or more so keep that in mind the tank needs to be bigger than 5 gallon.
