Betta imbellis is not just a wild betta, it is a completely different species to Betta splendens. They are indeed kept in groups and my LFS sometimes has some in stock. I have never tried them myself but I do like the idea of bettas that I can keep in numbers.

It was a lovely looking fish, looked like a PK to me which caused the confusion.
I think it would be cool to have a tank of them cos i love betta.
I think i am gonna end up changing my tank to a betta tank eventually.
