My betta cost 3.99 CAD, so I wouldn't exactly call him expensive. (Now, the solid with big fins above the spikey "expensive" one was almost 10 dollars, which is expensive for a betta (At least, for me!)

Well, I breed bettas and I just love crowntails. I don't see anything wrong with getting something you like

(Btw, normal petstore veiltails cost here about 7 euros, that's about 8,6 dollars.)
