My bettas have never had problems with freeze-dried bloodworms... Betta pellets, however, always seem to plug them up. Freeze-dried foods in general can constipate your fishies if you overfeed... They will absorb and swell up with water once the betta eats them.
Freeze-dried bloodworms soften up pretty quickly in water if you want to soak them for a few minutes before feeding.
With frozen foods and live foods you run the risk of introducing some nasty pathogens into your betta's tank... When I introduced frozen foods, within weeks over half of my bettas had to be moved to hospital tanks, some recovered, some did not.
I just stick with freeze-dried food, but a variety... daphia, baby brine shrimp, bloodworms, and tubiflex worms. No problems.
