So last month I had a successful spawn from Jester and Paloma (STPKs). I realised that while I was conditioning them I played a lot of music. I was wondering if this affected their mating in some way. It'd be nice if bettas appreciated music.

How 'bout you guys? Does anyone else here make their bettas listen to music?

I usually make them listen to relaxing 311 songs, by the way. :hey:

I'm not a breeder... yet ;)... but my bettas are forced to listen to quite a large amount of country music. ^_^

Hm.. Country music.. Nice, lisie. :D

Hehe. Right now Jack and Lilith are in the breeding tank. I'm still deciding on what to make them listen to. They're both crowntails. Jack has a black body, the inner half of the fins is dark, solid red, then a bit of steel blue, then transparent, and then the tips of the rays are black. Lilith's a cambo, the typical pale yellow body and red fins. They both have very good finnages. Sorry, don't have photos. :X

My fish have been listening to an Emo CD the past week.. Then again over this past 24 hours I've lost 2 bala sharks.. and by lost I mean I can't find them, at all.

Oh no, your bala sharks went emo. :/ lol. I listen to alot of R&B so my fish jam to soul.

love line dance music....but it gets dogs too excited..they try to join in..so cant watch fish as well or I shall fall over!

yeah, i stick my betta on top of my 300w subwoofer and blast the bass. its like they are dancing. they going yellow bus.

haha, just kidding. i bet i got some of you guys

Been contemplating the same for quite some time also. I don't know how it will affect their well being. I've read some articles on how some kennels and farms use classical music to help calm and soothe the animals

I already started experimenting on playing music by the tanks and observing the bettas. It made me soooo sleepy... I stopped it right away! Oh well.

Mozart anyone?

I have also wondered about this.

Not so long ago all my spawn tanks were in the kitchen so the radio or cd player was always on and spawnings happened quite regularly. I wonder if the thump of the bass feels like rain falling to them :dunno:

I've recently moved them all into the fishroom now in the garage but so far have no music on in there, but have still had spawns.

You mean you're putting your own interest ahead of that of your fish?!?!?! SHAME ON YOU!

haha just kidding ;) :X :p
