Hello! I have a very slow golden betta that is currently in a 2.5g, but after treating fin rot in that tank, the plants got hit quite hard, everything except for a crypt and some rotala melted away.
I have a 10g that I want to temporarily put him in once I fix up his tank (the flow is quite hard on him right now because of no plant cover).
In there is a refugee colony of guppies, and the tank is extremely heavily planted with lots of places to rest for him.

Do you think he'd be okay in there and not eat all the baby guppies?
For some reason, he only eats from my hand or a tweezer so I doubt he would recognize them as food anyway.

I know, It will have a bad ring to it...

But... Yes if you put him in position to hunt a little... Betta health greatly improves with a fun activity.

You only know how your setup is, number of fry / hiding places...

I would give it a try under surveillance.

Well, that depends on the indiviual nature of this betta specimen...
I had bettas that were serious hunters for fry but there were also bettas that didn't give any attention to fry. Well, there's one way to find out.. But like @MaloK has already mentioned, you could try it under surveillance... But no guarantees, of course...

One thing I learned with bettas...

Is you have to spy on them from afar to see their real "meaning".

The are sneaky little pieces of work. And hide their game very well.

Don't get fooled by the happy food beggings when you are there...
