Betta In 15 Litre Tank - Would It Be Happy?

IMO splitting 3 ways is gonna make it way too small, so if the only option you have is the old bowl then you gonna have to use that for now, and work on upgrading. I cant tell people what to do, only give my opinion. That'll teach you for asking the seller a cheeky question in her hour of need

lol, well im thinking i should split it 3 ways, wait till i have some more money. Maybe buy an identicaly tank to what i have now. Then have half for a fish, and the other half for... If i decide to try and breed?

Or does breeding require a compleatly seperate tank?

Oh yeh.....you need a seperate tank, minimum 10 gallons but 15g is better, and loads of gallon containers for the juveniles.

P.S. Kariann, sorry for hijacking your thread :)

So, the tank i have now would be ok for breeding?

And in it id need?

a heater? what else

Your tank would be too small. You'll need to keep that plus get a spawning tank and growout tank.

This is just part of our set up. The two spawning tanks at the bottom plus we have 3 other growout tanks. We also have approx 70 of those containers plus jars and divided tanks for the babies when they need separating.

Netty where did you get those containers? I'm hoping to start a spawn within a month or so (got my pair, they are ) but I can't find decent fry containers that will stack and I need them to stack. The ones I can get are 3 litres (which is a bit smaller than I'd like anyway) and the lids are airtight, which is a pain.

:hyper: WOW - You lot really go for it when you get going. Very interesting debate and thanks for letting me know that my betta will be OK in 15litre. I'll probably get the mini filter, as for the sake of a tenner I want the little guy to be as happy as possible. Thanks again to every one especially. :D

We got those containers from Modaz. They are ideal as they come with dividers too which we use when we first separate the fry. Then as they grow the dividers are removed and they have a container each to themselves.

It can get quite lively here sometimes  Also another alternative to a mini filter would be a sponge filter with air pump......Modaz on the forum sells a really good one that we use also :good:
