Betta Game

I have another thread open at the moment requesting videos of bettas swimming (please read it) but that's not really the place for a project journal. So I thought I'd post updates and images here. I've been working on the basics of the fin types. I just finished the resting image for the veiltail.
Look like a veiltail betta male to you guys? Suggestions much appreciated.
I'm going to make at-rest images for the other strains I'm doing, then flaring images, and then I'll start working on the swimming frames which will be a job and a half. I worked out in the other thread that I'll end up making approximately 800 images per strain, and that's not counting advanced sequences like spawning, making bubble nests, eating etc.

This is a big job...

Anyway, what do you think of the vt?

I must be crazy.
Well, we established that a couple of years ago

I changed one line in the tail so that the edge of the tail fin extends almost to the edge of the anal fin where it joins the body. It looks way better.

Didn't like that dorsal fin - it looks like he's flaring. I dropped it behind the body so it's hidden by the tail. I tried to draw it in front but it looked awful, and this way it's easier to link it in to when he drops his fins.
I'll have to release beta versions of the game with only some of the strains in place because I have a LOT of strain pics to make...
