hi all

my fry are 4 today when will they need to be put in the grow out tank??

also as i cant get any MWs ive been giving them crushed flakes will these be ok for now??

and one more thing i did a water change today is that ok or have i done it to early??

How about spelling properly so we can understand what you're saying?

I can understand you have fry and that you want to feed MW.
Not really sure about the rest!

1. Don't worry about grow out...you have a while. You don't move them until they are about a month old.

2. Why can't you get MW? Order some online. You decided to spawn, it is your responsibility to take care of the babies properly. Flaked food is not acceptable for young fry (or even younger juvies). You need live food. Buy some BBS and make a hatchery if you can't get MW. And start thinking about what you'll feed them when they get too big for MW and BBS.

3. A bit too soon. You should start with a lowered water level, then for the first week or two just add fresh water evey few days until you have filled the tank up most of the way. You can also syphon the grungies off the bottom, but don't suck up the babies!

Well, as an emergency fry food take some hard boiled egg and take the egg yolk and crush it in a powder and you can sprinkle a tiny bit on the surface or mix it withh a little water and spritz with a spray bottle for the first few days. If you have no live foods, do get BBS eggs and hatch them out for the fry after the first week. Don't do anything to the tank now, unless you have a seasoned sponge filter you can add to bubble on low. Don't add water until they are 2 weeks old and add in small portions daily, and when the tank is full do small water changes. More often is better than more quantity, the same rule for feeding too. You can use a turkey baster to siphon small debris and uneaten food in the beginning off of the floor without disturbing the babies too much.
