Ok, I'm making a new topic since my other one just "disappeared" But whatever...this isn't the first time thats happened.

I'll make a short story even shorter:
I went to Walmart, found a red betta that I felt really bad for. He was just laying on the bottom of his cup, but when I picked his cup up he went crazy and was wiggling his little butt. My mom wouldn't let me take him home :-( So I told my friend about him and she said she wanted a betta, and that I could go get it for her because she didn't have enough time until Friday. So I went to get him and he wasn't there :( But I picked out a different beautiful boy for her. He's a flashy blue with red ventral fins, and he had a bit of crowntail in him. Got him home, set him up in a spare one gallon. He liked frozen/freeze dried bloodworms, but not pellets. Tried the micro-pellets and he ate those, so I guess it was just too hard for him to eat the larger pellets. My friend gave me money to go down after school today to get him a tank, a plant, declorinator and food. She doesn't really know what to get so thats why I'm buying everything for her. On Friday she is going to pick him and everything else up and bring him home.
I've already got attached to him, LoL. He even blew a nice sized bubble nest today! But I know that my mom wouldn't let me keep him anyways -_-
I've also written out instructions out for her about cleaning the tank and feeding him. So yah, I guess thats about it. I'll tell you guys what I buy him from the lfs when I get back :D

Give your mother a fish for her birthday/Mothersday/Xmas :D I gave my mom a goldfish when I was 7 and she "let" me keep it in her room and take care of it LOL. She didn't want a fish, but uh...it was the thought that counted ;) (This might not work in this case though, lol) It's a pitty you can't have one since you sound so responsible.

Errr - I think it's a case of she can't have another one. Profile shows about six males and two females if I'm reading it right. :p

LOL^
That was life at its best!

Even you guys think 8 bettas is too much? Is my mom paying you to say that or something?
I'm getting a tank in a few hours and dividing it for my male bettas...hopefully I can fit in a few more "new'' bettas because my LFS got in double-tailed and short-finned male bettas!!! :hyper:

:) No way! I have 8 betta, 8.5 if you count the one I got my mom for mothers day. I'd love to get more but I don't have room! :(

Weird, I have a betta that's the exact same way!! I had been feeding him live white worms and frozen bloodworms only, but I just recently figured out he'll happily eat micro-pellets.

Nice going creating a new bettaholic! They're just like crack... your friend will be hooked in no time :shifty:

I tried to get a betta for my mom- on her birthday and for mothers day. I told her I would clean his tank and feed him and everything, all she had to do is have it in her room because I had no room in my room (I have 2 large bird cages and currently 8 small tanks ranging from 1 gallon to 3 gallons in there...there's barely any room for my bed! LoL) but she said "NOOO!!!!!" I guess she doesn't enjoy bettas like I do *shrug*.

Unfortunatly they weren't selling the mirco-pellets at the LFS for some reasen, so I just gave her half of my bottle, which should last her for a LOOONG time because they're so tiny! My guys eat the normal sized pellets anyways.

LoL! She was even saying how much space she had in her room for bettas...I think she's an addict ALREADY and she hasn't even had her first "dose" of betta yet :p
