Betta eye issue

Any ideas on what this could be. Only affecting the left eye.
Almost looks like something is stuck on her eye.
Thought maybe it's cloudy eye but thought that effected inside the eye rather than being on the outside

It's just excess mucous to help the eye heal.

The fish would have damaged the eye and the body produces more mucous to protect the wound.

Do a 75% water change and gravel clean the substrate every day for a week and it should be fine.
Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.

Ahh ok thanks so much for your help! Any tips for cleaning a sand substrate more effectively?

use a basic model gravel cleaner and kink the hose so it doesn't suck the sand out with the water.
