Betta eating live plants?

Recently in my 5 gallon I've been seeing my dt female nibbling on one of my live plants... is this normal? I've never seen a betta do this before. She's a little hog at meal times though, so it doesn't really surprise me!

Probably snapping at what looks like food and finding out there's nothing there.

iv heard bettas will nibble on plants a lil and eat alge, iv got java fern in there with my female and iv heard it tastes bitter so im not worryed.

What kind of plant is she eating?

Ambulia. She nibbles on the very tip and is most definitely eating the plant itself. Weird
