My betta loves swimming around the tank, until he approaches the filter. He doesn't realize that the filter pushes out a current of water. So, he will swim over there and then be pushed back/ It is quite funny though. He doesn't get hurt by this so I guess that it's ok.

a lot of my fish do this, even my 2 angels, though its said angels like more calmer waters, but mine swim under the filter then up to the current
and get pushed back, they keep this up for ages somtimes before swimming back to the other side of the tank ,were the waters more calmer,
:) can't see how it can harm them, :)

Maybe he likes it - some of my cichlids seem to enjoy the "jaccuzi" they get from laying on top of the bubble wand in their tank

lol, and betta's are supposed to like very calm water

yes so do angels, just goes to show obviously are fish dont mind the
rough waters lol

Yeah that is funny to watch, my Tiger Barbs like to swim against the current that my powerhead puts out.

He almost stays away from it for a while and then when he swims over to that side of the tank, it's like he wishes he didn't. He will swim for a second and then let the filter current push him almost to the glass. Then he will swim to the bottom and move to the other side.

My betta doesn't seem to settle anywhere is constantly on the move and also seems to enjoy the flow :D

:)
