I have been dealing with the people at product zoo regarding their beanie boxes. they have extended an offer of a 7% introductory discount on your first order of any product offered by them. the discount is good til October 31, 2004. here is a link to the catalog and beanie box

when ordering call the tollfree number (800) 500-9954 to place your order. you will also need to use the promotion code PZMPD.

also, here is a link to plans for betta barracks using the beanie boxes.

Soinds good. ..I see ur gonna want to be a betta breeder... :fun:

I have gotten the 3.75x4x8 beanies from Matt wheeler in NY twice. Great person to deal with. I have told several people who ordered from him. You get 50 beanies for 39.00 plus shipping. My order has been 53.00 total, including shipping, for 50 beanies. His email is Matt <MWHEELE5@NYCAP.RR.COM> This is the best deal I have found.

are these really big enough for bettas? I'm interested, but was under the impression that they would be happier in a larger tank (not to mention heated).

just curiouse ^_^

For a permanent home....no,they would not be suitable by any means whatsoever. But, from a breeder perspective....they're perfect for growing out fry. When you have hundreds of bettas who need to be seperated, there's really nowhere to house everybody that's comfy and warm.

We grow em,others buy them and house them. That's where suitable tank size comes in

I don't think Matt has a website, but am not sure. He is a power user on Ebay, which is where I bought from him the first time. I use the beanies to house my juvies after I take them out of the growout tank. That is a critical time for them, so they get daily water changes. When I decide I will be keeping one, they go in a 1.5 gal tank. When I decide I will be using it to breed with, they go to a 2.5 gal tank.
