Betta ATE his meds!

He's alive :p

Seems a bit more active right now, so I think things are well, sorry for sounding so paranoid...

Hi abe :)

I'd be paranoid too, under the circumstances. :*)

How's he doing now?

He seems to be doing ok now :) Still resting now & then, but I think he just likes to see the look of fear in my eyes...

He's eating his shrimp flakes as of now, hehe. Which leads me to a question. I'm guessing he got fungus from me feeding him too much OR from him spitting out his food & it rotting away. Here is what I have tried to feed him: wardley betta food, blood worms (of course he likes these), and each of the 4 courses in my tetra menu food can (dinner/shrimp being his favorite).

Is there any food he won't spit out? I'm assuming that means he doesn't like it.

I called Jungle Labs, got a long recording, figured waiting for an email response would be quicker, ha. ah well, I THINK he's ok now :D

woo hoo I got an email back! They told me that "Your Betta will not die from trying to eat at the residue that is left at the surface of his bowls water. It is very normal and instinctual for him to react in this manner, since he is a surface eater"

I guess he just had indigestion or something then.

So I guess if this happens to anyone else, things will most likely be ok ;)

Hi abe :)

I'm glad to hear the good news. And it's good to know that the manufacturer is responsive to its customers' concerns too.

How is the medicine working on the fish's original problem?

The fungus cleared up within a day of the meds :) This stuff appears to work pretty good, I just may dissolve it first in a cup next time.

This really is the friendliest fish forum around!
