Betta Anonymous

Worse part is I now met a Betta dealer/breeder.

There is a Turqoise (hope I spelled that right right) Super Delta and a Jumbo Plakat which I am having a hard time fending off... well it is Christmas?

The one good thing is I have not had the urge to buy PC parts since I got my first Betta (used to upgrade my PC for god knwo what reason). Betta's are a inexpensive hobby in my part of the world with 2.5G tanks at less than $2 and you cna even get the fish for as low as $0.25.

But I can imagine what it is like to manage 12 or so bettas. Hughed filter tank... hmmm.... dividers... keep the filter in its own divider to minize current.... hmmm

The quality fish though cost $5-11 and the ones from Kelson's Signapore cost over $70.

The Philippines. If you know to buy. A 2.5 gallon tank cost less than $2 and a 5 gallon cost $3. A 100G monster costs $50.

I see. So it would only be worth it to ship a massive tank, and even then, probably not. :p What currency do you use there?

And as for being chicken, aren't we all? Religion is because we fear the unknown (incipient stages of it, IMO). Atheism... not quite sure what we are afraid of. :dunno:

I'm an atheist and i know what I'm afraid of.... spiders.

man i wish i could get 100g for $50..... 55g here is 100$ and 125g is well over $350
its cost me over $400 to setup my last 55g and it was on the cheap....

Here we use Pesos. Its about 56 pesos to 1 US$. The tanks are made of glass with plastic strips lining the top and bottom and styrofoam underneath. All help together by some silicone adhesive. Shipping one would probably not be woth the cost.

This is what they look like:

The stand, the light and filter cost extra.

Was thinking though, for the DIY types, maybe the glass and strips could be strip pre-cut. Anyway let me get a pic there.

Religion is because we fear the unknown.

Don't we all. In a way whether it is true or not, well hopefull I wont find out soon, but it does bring a sense of order into out lives. Sometimes I wonder if it needs us or we need it.

i'm trying to fight the addiction...
i went to petsmart and they just got in a ton of new bettas...i had 5 different ones picked out. a champagne-colored veil, with a cellophane/butterfly-ish tail a lavender veil, a burnt-orangey-red comb and 2 crowns (culls, i think, but still very pretty)...anyway...i just said no!!! i don't have anywhere to put them other than the containers i use for my water changes, and i need those........but i am picking up a new 5 gal set up this weekend  :look:  ...... they may be mine after all....

I'd like to point out to yall that the phillipines doesnt exactly have the most free flowing jobs market so only go there if you can live off your saveings for a while, That being said where can I get tagalog lessons?

I wish I could find something other than veiltails here. I love my VT but I want something different next time. There is at least one more petstore within an hour's drive-I might have to take a road trip and check it out. Maybe next year.

Went to get 2.5 gallon tanks at a local Petshop (Bioresearch) and they had 60+ new veiltails in small plastic cups

If they really thought about it they could put them in half gallon bowls and save money in the long run

Sigh but every pet store here keeps them in plastics cups.... so I can't exactyl boycott.

And they were like P35 (0.65 cents US ea.), so it was so tempting to rescue another one. But where would I put him :dunno:
