I brought a 64l tank yesterday to mainly use as a quarantine/ breeding tank. The tank was all set up with a single anglefish that the guy had had in there for 2 years. Obviously the tank is too small for the fish. What should I do, leave it in there for now until I can find somewhere for it or put it in my 250l which has got a very placid 5” GT in it and monitor?

What are the dimensions of the tank?

As you already said, it’s way to small. But depending on the dimensions, you may be able to keep him in there for now...

if you stick an angelfish in a tank that already has a full grown green terror cichlid, you will be killing the angelfish. Leave it where it is until you can find it a safe place to live.

It should be OK in that tank until you can find a better home for it. (Assuming it is alone...)

Ok so I had no choice as nobody would take the angelfish and I needed the tank to put some RCS in, so I thought I’d put it in the bigger tank. It has definitely become the more dominant of the 2, the GT swims away at any confrontation. This is still only a temporary solution but they are been together for over a week now
