My Rapael ate 3 shrimp pellets on the first day I got him, but now he wont eat anything. Even when I put the pellets right in front of him. He just hides all day. I also cant figure out how im going to get my Bristlenose to find these algae wafers. Any suggestions?

I never see my rapheal and I have no clue where it finds food but it is teh fattest fish in my tank. With teh algae waffers just through them in when you go to bed and all teh lights are off. The pleco will find thm. Probly teh raphael too. If you really want to see those fish you are gonna have to sit in the room with teh lights off for a while and then shine a flashlight into teh tank real quick and you might catch them. I have yet to see my raphael do anything besides sit wedged in its cave.

If you really want to seee your nite fish, then get your self either a Moonglow light or a marine actinic, these let you see the all the nite swiming fish.

Yeah ive heard of these moonglow lights. Where do they go? Does it replace the flouro light, or is it seperate and smaller?

It is the same as ur normal tank light, but blue, u normally have them both set-up, the normal one in the day, then the moon glow in the evening/night :)

if u want moonglow then just go down to your fishie shop and ask for a marine actinic if you want the same moonglow effect, i have both moonglow and actinic and the marine version is slightly better.

So do you just use your existing hood and switch bulbs out at night, or do you have a whole different one that you switch to?

Ok I got the Raphael to eat last night. I just dropped in a few shrimp pellets when it was dark and he found them. Im still having trouble getting my plec to eat. He never comes near the bottom of the tank. He stays up in my big Swordplant most of the time. The Cichlids usually get ahold of the algae wafer long before the plec comes down (that is, IF he comes down). Any more ideas?

just buy an extra light unit if u have room to mound the light under the hood and turn it on just before u turn out the main lights
