Hi all

i'm looking to invest in a larger starter tank and am currently tring to decide between a Juwel Rio 125l or a Fluval Roma 125l (siding with the Rio at the moment but happy to listen to counter argeuments for the Roma - apart from the obvious far nicer cabinet)

I do have a 30l nano and currently test my water with a Nutrafin master test kit picked up from my LFS.  This particular one measures PH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate......However, upon re-reading the fishless cycling process the unit of measurement for ammonia you are all referring to is 'ppm' but my test kit doesn't measure in this way (as in the colour chart relating to the results is in mg if memery serves)

New tank will mean all new stuff so which test kits would you guys recommend?

API master kit and am sure everyone will agree. Easy to read and spot on. It measures in PPM which is what everyone uses and is used too.

The kit covers ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and High range and normal PH.

Yeah, the reading for Ammonia is a bit easier on API but I don't mind the nitrAte nutrafin test.
PPM is mg/L if that's what your test measures, it's the same. Actually I have it and it's the same, so for example 1mg/L is 1ppm.

Thanks for the replies peeps.....anyone got any views on the aquarium choices.

I understand they're both good and very similar in price - anyone have any particular negative experiences with either?

I use api freshwater master test kit for all my needs and it works great! However from what I've heard, nutrafin is good so feel free to stick to it. Welcome to the forum and best of luck!
