Best Thermometer

or is it that you want the temperature level monitored all the time

Yes I want the temp monitored all the time, My digital thermometers have a high/low temp alarm and the alarm has saved me a few times. I once had a faulty heater that didnt turn off and when the water temp got to 33 deg C the alarm sounded and this was at 2 am.

Another time a circuit breaker tripped and the alarm sounded when the water got down to 20 deg C again this was during the night.

yeah I really should look at getting one with an alarm that's a good idea I have one spare all the time... they are kinda cheap at my pet store 50$ for a decent size I might see if she can get ones with alarm,s in it...

Its worth the investment.

When I set up a new tank for someone after adding water a filter, heater and thermometer I also add Seachem ammonia alert tag

Its next to the heater

I have tried them, the ph one never ever worked for me I couldn't see the colour change or it was too old.. but the ammonia one did. then the fish kept knocking it down...

i really like your tank , it looks really healthy. I live fairly rural and wont order fish or plants in the mail. It,s yukky so i get everything from my petstore which is small i find it hard to get special plants from her she is proud of the small selection she has and gets grumpy that i dont want them. I recently got some amazon swords from her and here is a picture from lake malawi that is the style i want to establish . Could i succeed ? tanganyika-plants.jpg

I live in Nothern NSW and have ordered fish and plants on line from livefish.com.au without any problems, They use Star Track express costs $20 and you get overnight delivery. Some stuff has free delivery.
