Hi,

Several years ago I had a Rekord 96 tank which I loved but when away on holiday the heater broke and I came home to boiled fish. I was also at a point were various bits needed replacing and I didn't have the heart to start again so sold everything.

Now I'm getting that itch to get another tank and start again. I don't have much space, but would really like to have a couple of angel fish. I know they need deep water so was wondering if the Fluval Edge 46l would be sufficient to house them and, if so, if there was space for anything else. The dimensions of the tank are 43cm x 35cm x 59cm high Link to Fluval Edge 46

If this isn't enough for them, how big would I need to go and can anybody suggest a suitable tank. I like the Fluval Edge because everything is hidden away and you don't need to have filters etc on view so something that has that kind of facility would be great.

Thanks in advance for you help.

The Fluval Edge is really too small for angels. I have a pair in a Fluval Roma 125l and could not recommend they go in a tank smaller than that. One has stayed quite small but the other seems to get bigger every day. You might get away with a single angel in that type of tank for a while, as they don't move fast and the tank is quite tall, but I am not sure I would recommend it.

I had a Fluval Edge myself, the smaller version, I don't use it now as it is just too impractical to clean and maintain, and netting fish out is such a palava. Lovely looking but a royal pain in the butt! I would go for a bigger, more traditionally shaped tank if I were you. The 125 is a good place to start, gives a lot of options, but the bigger the better because not matter what, you'll end up wanting a bigger tank'

Thanks for your reply. I thought that it might be pushing it. The Fluval Roma looks a lovely tank but I just don't think I've got the space for it. Probably have to go for something about 60l so will have to rethink the fish population.
