It's hard. The Xingu is threatened by hydro-electric development, the gold miners are making a mess of both Amazonia and Africa. Often they are connected to major transnational corporations. Canadian mining corporations are right in there. and if Australian ones are big, they're in it too. The economy is such an interconnected web now that it's hard to avoid the killer sections of it. We're probably communicating on devices that use minerals mined, we have wood from their forests, we eat soy to avoid the beef from there, but both destroy equally.
