Best tank for a single species only biotope?

Is it the same for the Orinoco and Amazon Rivers?
For the Orinoco there has been illegal mining done in Venezuela which makes up for the majority of the river that has done irreversible damage such as artisan rafts that inject mercury into the riverbed to extract gold. This has contaminated and poisoned many waterways in the Orinoco

How do we protect both the Pantanal and the Orinoco from further destruction?

It's hard. The Xingu is threatened by hydro-electric development, the gold miners are making a mess of both Amazonia and Africa. Often they are connected to major transnational corporations. Canadian mining corporations are right in there. and if Australian ones are big, they're in it too. The economy is such an interconnected web now that it's hard to avoid the killer sections of it. We're probably communicating on devices that use minerals mined, we have wood from their forests, we eat soy to avoid the beef from there, but both destroy equally.

Hmm... Both the Pantanal and Orinoco are good candidates for a biotope setup project. We could use a 20 gallon tank for the Pantanal for a native tetra species that live in the wetlands and 120 litre or bigger for the Orinoco River with cardinal tetras.
