Best Shrimps To Get

hey all.

i have been to 5 local fish shops to find out wats the best alge eating shrimp to go in my tank but all i get from my LFS is always getting pointed in the direction of the most expensive shrimps i was wondering whats the best shrimp to get to do the job.

i would go for amano shrimp. mine are constantly active clearing up algae

amanos, they will breed but the larvae wont survive as they need salt to survive. or if you want loads then maybe some cherry shrimp.

Well anything i can get hold of one of my LFS can try and get hold of wat i ask so im trying to see wats the best shrimp for the job.

Amano's are generally the best algae cleaners and common hardy shrimp but they don't breed in freshwater, Most other shrimp will nibble on algae but some prefer different foods. List of species here you would want atyid shrimp which is at the top.
