best plants for amano shrimp tank

i have been buying java moss for my amano shrimp tank. it grows very slowly, but most of it breaks up into mush that slows down cleaning for one thing.
although i read java moss is best for shrimp, is there another kind that would be good for hiding in and maybe being eaten? thanks

Here is a picture of my shrimp tank. There are between 40 and 50 shrimp in this tank although I hardly see any in this pic. I just took the picture and the lights are just starting to come on. As you can see there is a lot of hornwort. I always see shrimp and amphipods in the hornwort. I also have some dwarf water lettuce floating at the top. When I drop in powdered food for the baby shrimp they all hang upside down under the water lettuce to eat the BacterAE. They like to hang onto the roots of the water lettuce and eat too. In the lower left area of the tank you will see a rock with a lot of susswassertang loosely held on with thin cotton thread. The shrimp love to pick around on that. Behind that I have some dwarf saggitaria which has sprung up a couple of new plants even though I only have gravel on half of the tank bottom. There is a stray piece of guppy grass and a small leftover piece of anacharis in there floating around too. I also have some tiny chunks of driftwood with crevices in which I’ve woven in some roots of some tiny java fern babies taken out of my larger tank. The java fern grows very slowly but may eventually outgrow the tank and when the time comes it can be dropped into one of my larger tanks. Then of course there are lots of Indian almond leaves in various stages of decomposition along with some oak leaves and alder cones.

The best moss I’ve ever purchased was tissue culture mosses which didn’t have any brown stuff or debris. It is more expensive to get the tissue culture plants but worth it in my opinion.

Have fun with your shrimp tank! I spend a lot of time each day enjoying mine, looking for the tiny micro crabs that share their tank, and looking for the certain little shrimp that I recognize, like the one with only one eye.

I have amanos in multiple tanks, I have never chosen plants for the shrimp, I chose the shrimp to help with algae on the plants. Theone thing aquatic shrimp do need is something thay can hold onto when they want. This is why shrimp are shipped with something in the bag onyo which they can grab. Not having this makes them go crazy.

I would look for plants with thick leaves with those Amano shrimps.
