Hi

I got a glass diffuser from aqua essentials weres the best placement in the tank for it? I have mine 3 quarters down in the tank but for some reason my plants are swamped in co2 bubbles it was fine further up do they work better or worse further from the surface?

Carl

you want it as low as possible preferably, the more time the bubbles have to travel the better diffusion, also i would put it infront of your filter outlet as the bubbles will get blown around better

Also try and place it so that the bubbles rise up and get caught in the flow of the filter outlet, that way the bubbles get blow around the tank and have more time to dissolve.

The placement will depend on your plants.

i.e. for George Farmers 125 Low light he had it opposite end to the outflow and half way up central. For him in this scape it meant the flow hit where the bubbles would rise and push them sideways/down. This scape had open space front to centre on the diffusor end. His next was totally free space on this end and he moved the diffusor to the back left bottom corner

In my tank same size and similar setup this wouldn't work because I have Tiger Lotus on this side which disrupts the flow a lot and as you say the bubbles get trapped in the leaves. Therefore I have mine halfway up in the centre back.

The best position is always the place where the least bubbles hit the surface and get moved around the tank instead. If you have low flow then you may have to position it directly under the inflow (to take it through the filter) or under the outlflow to get blown about the tank.

So put it somewhere then somewhere else until you find the best spot. Be prepared for the best spot to change as plants grow etc.
