If you are getting corys to add to your existing corys then you should get the same species as they do prefer to be in company of their own kind.
My personal favourite is Corydoras sterbai but there are hundreds of cory species and more being discovered all the time so there is a lot to choose from.
Ditto all of the above.
There are 155 definate species, probably another 100 or more to go.
My personal favourite at the moment has got to be Corydoras Kronei.
it has nothing to do with what i'm gonna add to my tank, i just want to know..... and 150 species! I nevered knew there were so many species.......OMG AH
Kevin,
We were given a bronze and an albino cory a few months ago. I can tell you from experience, they don't play or hang out together at all! The only time I see them together is when they try to push each other off the algae wafers!
If you are looking for friends for your bronze, another bronze is the answer. I do get the impression that you just really want the albinos tho
Cory Sterbai and Cory Panda/Metae are faves of mine but Corydoras Barbatus should not be overlooked for interest value alone. Part of the Longirostris complex the males, as well as developing bristles on their cheeks, are fiercely territorial and will kill other males. They also prefer cooler, flowing water (20degC) with sand/fine gravel substrate. The markings are extremely attractive. Keep 1 male to about 3 females. They get to approx. 4" or a little more! B)
i have a emerald, an albino and a leapord cory... at first they didnt care for eachothers company, but now they hang out together all the time, especially the albino and the leopard! Those two are never apart! Its kinda cute. The emerald is my favorite guy tho cause he had his whole mouth chomped off by a crayfish! He survived and is thriving tho! I have to think of a new name for him cause "No Mouth" isnt going to be the case in a nother couple of months as its finally growing back!
I love my pair of black spotted corys! I got them for when I have that 33 gallon, I just couldnt let them go! They were a pair when these people brought them to my lfs because they were moving. I just couldnt let those guys go!
