I have a fluval 800 which is 68 litres. I have had it for a while now n I was thinkin about improvin the look with a line of bubbles at the back of it. What is the better air pumps to look at, not clued up at all on air pumps, dont even know how they work but wanna get one. I'm a cheap student n dont really wanna spend more than £20 on the new set-up. Cheers for reading.

Value for money would be a 3 speed dual outlet from Aqua One..........I've had one for nearly 15 years and still goes...........I just purchased a larger one for my new tank......cost me $18 AUS in Melbourne.

There might be a wee problem there coz I live in the UK so cant imagine I would get one from oz mate. Cheers for the help tho.

We've got a Blagdon air pump on our tank at the moment which is great, unfortunately though it can be a little noisy.
I've heard that the Rena pumps are good and also very quiet.

I dont have a scooby how they work or anythin so was gonna go into the pet shop n ask. Was thinkin of getten the tetratec APS100, anyone know anythin about it?

I have bought the tetratec 100 and a 60cm air curtain tube so im waitin for it to be delivered. Cheers for the help. :good:

The reason I bought that one is coz it said to for a tank that is 65 litres. How big is your tank? Will the wall be too long for it? Will the bubbles not come out or just be too slow or what?

I have hooked up my air curtain to my pump and it seems fine by me mate. The only thing was i never got an adjustment so i can change the output but its fine anyway, my fish are enjoyin it!!

I like the Rena airpumps. I have 4 of them. They are the quietest I've found but are a little more expensive than the others but you know what they say about getting what you pay for. Make sure you get one that will work for your tank. The deeper the tank (or actually, the deeper you plan to put the airstones or bubble strip), the stronger it needs to be.

I always try to use the method of going one bigger than I need one of my tank's is a rio 180 I have a tetratec aps 400 with a 9in air stone it works great, the same goes for my external filter I went for the Fluval 305 so as not to put so much of a strain on it, if you can afford the extra go to the next model up for the size of your tank, good luck.
