2 of my young platties have a bent spine. If you look at them from above their spine has an S shape. There are no other symptoms. I've been doing some research and found that one symptom of fish tuberculosis is a deformed spine. But it is usually a later symptom and my fish don't have any more symptoms of TB. So what is it? I hope it's not fish tuberculosis. It's pretty much incurable and I can catch it!!! Please help!!!!

I had a platie that was the same. It's from inbreeding. I highly doubt they have TB.

Unfortunatly, It gets worse, and the fish die rather young. :/

EDIT: PETsMARTchic, I would't be worried. TB is VERY rare.

One of my guppies is the same way. She is awesome with such personality. I call her "Quasi"

Thanx for the replies guys! I was really starting to freak out there. If it is caused by inbreeding that makes sense considering I got all my fry from work where I'm sure brothers and sisters are rolling in the sack. I also heard it could be caused by malnutrition but I feed them crushed Livebearer flakes and liquid fry food. Again, thanks for the help! :D

I had a pair of black mollies that became curved or bent after they had a spell with ich, eventually they both died.
