I have a 20 gallon tank that is fairly well established. The inhabitants were 8 neons (4 of which have since been moved to another tank), 5 rasboras, 4 black emperor tetras, 4 pygmy corys, and 1 endlers livebearer. About a 1 1/2 months or so ago one of the neons started losing his color and white fading on the tail and I have since noticed that his tail has become bent. From above he looks almost like a "Z". He was schooling with the other neons just fine, but I moved him to a quarantince tank as a precaution. None of the other fish have any simptoms. The water is about 76 degrees and the pH is at 6.4.....Does anyone have any ideas?

Could be neon tetra disease - I had one that did exactly the same and it got quite poorly in the end. I ended up putting it out of it's misery...

Alternatively, if the fish is thin and belly is sunken, I've heard that the bent spine could be a symptom of fish TB.

I've found THIS site quite helpful in diagnosing...

I hope this helps

are their white splotches around the 'bends'? if so, you need to remove that fish entirely....

secondly, is there anyway i can get a picture or two of the black emperor tetras? liveaquaria shows them as being jet black, but i'm skeptical
