I've had a 35 gallon tank for a few months... no problems up until now. So I don't know much at all.
My dwarf blue gourami is definitely not feeling well... it started the night before last... in the past, when he has claimed a territory, it has always been the bigger shelter I have in my tank... the night before last, he was standing guard outside the smaller shelter... not much bigger than he/she is. After about two hours, he started drifting off to one side of the opening, and was tilted a little bit tail down, nose up.
A couple of hours later, he was inside the shelter, and now you could definitely tell he was not feeling well. He was resting on the gravel, still tail down and nose up, and tilting a little off to one side. He was just sitting there, not moving for an hour...
Since then, he has only swam up to the top of the tank three times, each only for a few minutes, and didn't eat when I fed. The first two times, he went back to the small shelter, and just sat there... seemed very "out of it".
A few minutes ago, it seemed like he tried to swim up to the top, and he just corkscrewed half way up... I thought he was in death throes... but he just sank down to the bottom, "missed" his shelter, and is just sitting there near it... barely moving, only his mouth opening and closing every few seconds.
I don't know what the heck is going on... would he possibly have some kind of communicable disease my other fish could catch?
What do I do?
